Transferring a domain to

After moving your domains to, your site will be protected by the same level of security millions of others have come to expect. Your domain registration will be extended by an additional year, and any unused time will be retained by you. A secure and risk-free approach is available to all participants.

Sign in to your existing registrar and conduct the following checks to ensure that your domain name may be transferred:

  • The initial registration of the domain name was at least 60 days ago;
  • The domain has been with your current registrar for at least 60 days;
  • The domain name is not on hold with your current registrar.

Preparation is key when transferring a domain name.

Check to make sure you have access to the domain’s WHOIS Administrative contact email;
 • Unlock your domain – remove any registrar lock you may have placed
 • Obtain the auth/EPP code from the existing registrar
 • Verify you have access to the domain’s WHOIS Administrative contact email

The message will be sent to the domain’s WHOIS administrative contact. It usually takes 2–3 days for the domain transfer to be completed, and you will get a confirmation email once the transfer is complete.
