How do I restore my domain in redemption period?

Domain Redemption happens to a domain name that has expired and passed the Renewal Grace Period.  If you do not renew the domain name within the renew grace period, it enters a redemption period at the Registry. At this stage, the domain may be placed into the auction and then auctioned off by the upstream vendors.

The Redemption Period occurs approximately 30 days after a domain has reached its expiration date. For 30 days after the expiration date the domain will be available for renewal during a grace period. After the 30 day grace period, the domain will enter a hold period known as the Redemption Period for another 30 days. To recover the domain during the Redemption Period the registry requires a $125 USD fee.

After you exceed the redemption period, you will not be able to redeem your domain. You will need to purchase the domain name again (from any Registrar you choose) once the domain reaches general availability.

This process usually lasts 7 – 10 days, depending on the registrar.

To begin redeeming a domain that has already expired and  is in t he Redemption Grace Period, you will need to reach out to our support department through live chat or through the support ticket link for help:
