What are the fundamental procedures for connecting FTP to Filezilla??

Follow these basic steps to connect FileZilla to your FTP account via cPanel:

  1. Obtaining FTP Account Information
  • Enter your login information to access your cPanel account.
  • Select “FTP Accounts” or “FTP Manager” from the menu.
  • Decide which FTP account you want to use and write down the following information: FTP server information, such as the URL ftp.yourdomain.com or yourdomain.com, FTP user name, and FTP password

2. Download and run FileZilla:

  • Download and install FileZilla from the official website (https://filezilla-project.org/).
  • After the installation is finished, start FileZilla.

3. Set up FileZilla:

  • In FileZilla, use the shortcut Ctrl + S or the “File” menu’s “Site Manager” option.
  • Click the “New Site” button in the Site Manager window and give the FTP connection a name (such as My FTP Site).

4. Provide FTP Connection Information:

  • In Site Manager, enter the following data under the “General” tab:
  • Host: Enter the FTP server address that you found in cPanel (for example, ftp.yourdomain.com or yourdomain.com).
  • Port: Use the default value (usually 21) or leave this field empty.
  • Choose “FTP – File Transfer Protocol” for the protocol.
  • For secure connections, choose “Use explicit FTP over TLS if available” under the encryption section. Select “Only use plain FTP (insecure)” if your server does not support TLS.
  • Choose “Normal” as the logon type under the “Logon Type” tab.

5. Type the cPanel-recorded FTP account username and password.
6. Create a Connection.

  • To save the configuration and start the connection, click the “Connect” button in the Site Manager.

7. Check Connection and Move Files:

  • Using the supplied information, FileZilla will establish a connection to the FTP server and display the local files on your computer on the left side of the FileZilla interface.
  • The right side will display the remote files from the FTP server.
  • Drag-and-drop file or folder transfers are now possible between your local computer and the FTP server.
Remember to check that FileZilla is not being blocked by your firewall or antivirus program and confirm that you entered the correct FTP server address, username, and password.
